I don't know where you are from but where I reside tomorrow is  a day of rest...To remember those who fought for us/their country at War. After visiting the dawn service I think this will most definatly be on my list of 'craft-a-noon' activites for tomorrow! Although I do not enjoy a lollipop nearly as much as a gummy lolly... ALLL I could think and dream about last night were these mezmorising lollipops! I must read up on 'What lollipop dreams mean'.... Any thoughts?

new edition!

A fellow lolly fiend in the office alerted me last night to these delicious new arrivals into the local supermarket! Super Sweet internal marshmellow 'Mallow Bites Chocs' and larger than life smarties 'Mini Drops' (they are called pebbles in NZ!) I am excited about this new edition to the shelves. The Mallow bites come in 2 flavours - vanilla and honeycomb and I although their bite size genious, I am not convinced they take over the delicious 'Mallow-puffs' as a number one Choc/marchy combo.

Over the easter weekend there happened to be plenty of 'Fete's' happening around the towns... this gets me excited. Fete's = lolies and lots of them! Below lolly-on-a-stick was a highlight from the Marlo Primary School Easter Fete that I was very happy to spend my .50 cents on. The lollies were quality gummies and not just a BULK bought Koala Kandy bag either! Big ups to Marlo!

A lolly in a cake

The beautiful country that i was born and raised in has some delightful quirks, sayings, festivals, locations, people, objects as well as recipes. One that is a never fail on any front ( i am yet to meet someone who does not enjoy this little delight!) is lolly cake. really, lollies in a cake, how can you go wrong! I dont know if it is the fact that it is SO bad for you, the novelty of eating lollies in a cake or the fun colours of it but this guy is a golden gem not to be missed. So go and find some kiwi friends and demand they make it for you! (like my lovely friend did!)

Gummy Bunnies

sooo easter is good and all but perhaps a little chocolate overload and not enough emphasis on the lollies! so when i stumbled upon these bad boys at the supermarket the other day i hwas more than excited! finally trolli - the amazing gummy candy kings - have developed an easter version of their over-packaged yet delicious treats.

speaking of packaging and trolli's horrendous version of...did you know that in Australia alone, easter will create 9200 TONNES of rubbish!! and that the average packaged easter egg is 60% packaging and only 40% goodstuff!!! thats reason enough to hit up the pick n mix section if you ever needed one! x

Obsession

so i guess the reason for me starting this blog was my realisation that i am a lolly creep. everywhere i go its about finding the lolly shops and sussing their selection, everytime i see pick n mix i HAVE to buy it, no questions... even if i go to 3 candy stores in a row all with the same stuff... i still have to buy some new bits!

i have not a lolly jar, but a lolly draw. this is what it is currently sporting at the moment...

Easter week!

well... its easter week!! finally here that time of year guilt free (??) chocolate indulgence, only because its so shoved in your face that it actually feels normal to have a snack on a chocolate egg a couple of times a day...right? thanks to my lovely mum shipping me over a secret stash of NZ easter eggs ( we have the best range!) i have been prepping myself for this coming weekend for a few weeks now, just getting my chocolate tummy down pact ready to dowse it with all sorts this weekend! here are a pick of some of my absolute fav's in the shops at the moment:

Candy Coated mini eggs - absolute FAV! have to go for a good brand so that the choc melts in your mouth once warmed after sucking on the candy outter - be warned of fakes! I can reccommend BLACKEBYS from Adelaide..!
